Kate Moss Vogue Japan May 2011

I've always loved Kate Moss.
In fact I think she is perhaps the greatest model of our time.
But I am very biased.

Here she is working her magic for Vogue Japan May 2011 issue.

Perfection. (apart from that squished boob)

Shot by Mert & Marcus.
I would die to know what makeup artist Charlotte Tibury used on the Moss's lips

i-D Spring 2011

Sometimes all you need are flowers and lovely pictures to look at.
Sometimes both arrive together.

Shine, i-D 2011

Aren't they beautiful?

I've just done several shoots where flowers were heavily and immaculately featured, so this totally caught my eye.

The photographer is Karim Sadli, the model is Poland's Malgosia Bela

Tired Eye Relief

Today I am really dragging my tail feathers after several very long days in a row on shoots. I've got many more days before the next day off, so the issue becomes how to you arrive on set looking fresh faced, and not looking exhausted?
Turns out I have a few tricks up my sleeve, the first of which you need to know about quickly, as it is a limited edition product.

You've heard me talk about skynICELAND products before.

This is one of my all time favorite product lines, as it is the only skin care line designed to treat the effects of stress on the skin. That's all they are about - Solutions for stressed skin.

And who has stressed skin?

These days pretty much anyone living in a city or busy town, anyone exposed to environmental pollutants (which is essentially all of us!) anyone who is tired, over worked, sits in front of a computer all day, has life-stuff to deal with - basically everyone.

The first place we see stress or exhaustion on the face is the eye area.

Anything from puffiness, wrinkles, dehydration, dark circles, dulled skin, lifeless appearance.
The under eye area is where you can either save your look, or where you lose the game entirely.

skynICELAND has a limited edition product called the Icelandic Relief Eye Pen.
Its their best selling eye cream in a travel friendly pen.

You can apply it morning and night, but you can also throw it in your handbag for quick fixes throughout the day for on-the-go relief from the damaging effects of stress.

It goes after the 3 major eye issues associated with stress related oxygen and nutrient depletion: puffiness, the wrinkled/dehydrated skin and the under eye dark circles.
It provides instant aid as well as a (very much welcomed) cooling sensation.

You can apply it over makeup as needed through out the day, as it is residue free, and won't smear your concealer or eye makeup.

The convenient pen is perfect for travel (a lifesaver with you on long flights, so you can arrive looking fresh eyed and pretty!), great to have with you on long work days, days with big meetings, days where you are going out after work, awesome for brides, perfect for honeymoons - the list goes on...

They're not expensive either.

As this is a limited edition, you may want to pick up a few. I certainly am...

Rihanna Covers Rolling Stone Magazine

Yet another cover for Rihanna.

My favorite of her's this season has been the Vogue cover
(see post here), however, once again she's rocking what she's got and looking caliente.

Inside she talks about that girl beating bozo she used to date, Chris Brown:

“We don’t have to talk again ever in my life. I just didn’t want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did to me was a personal thing—it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can’t perform at awards shows — that definitely made it difficult for him. That was the only thing it was going to change, so I didn’t care. But you can never please people. One minute I’m being too hard, and the next minute I’m a fool because I’m not being hard enough.”

Days before the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, February 13th, Rihanna allowed for the restraining order against Chris Brown to be eased. Chris Brown went to court late January to reduce the restraining order from “stay away” to “do not annoy.”

(It doesn't count that I personally find him completely annoying)

Anyway, she is looking gorgeous!

Hollywood Hotness This Week

The best of this week's red carpet and Hollywood hotness was all in NYC.

Emmy Rossum of Showtime's "Shameless" asked women to put their hair products to the test by taking the "Suave Challenge" to see if they can tell the difference between high dollar hair products and Suave.
LOVE the outfit!!

Olivia Palmero took to the red carpet in Rachel Roy for the 2011 Green Auction at Christies in NYC.

I love the pop she gets from the nail polish. Brings it all together and livens it up.

Not normally a Jake G girl, I have to say he looked all kinds of hotness in a Tom Ford suit at the premiere of Source Code

Maybe its the Tom Ford factor??

Island Of Longevity

Did you know that there is a small Greek island in the north eastern Aegean, who's residents out live the rest of the world?
Ikaria Images
This photo of Ikaria is courtesy of TripAdvisor

Ikaria is a small, unspoiled, verdant island named after the famous myth of Ikaros, who tried to fly with the Gods, but got burned by the sun and drowned in the surrounding waters.

What is super interesting (other than the insane beauty of the place) is that compared to America the people of Ikaria get one fifth the rate of cancer, half the rate of heart disease, and one ninth the rate of diabetes.
They reach the age of ninety with virtually no Alzheimers disease or dementia.

Scientist Dan Buettner, who has studied them extensively, gives 7 main reasons for their health and longevity:

1. They walk everywhere.

Ikaria's mountainous terrain is not really conducive to car travel, so they typically walk everywhere.

2. They eat their greens
There are more than 150 varieties of wild greens growing on the island, some of which have more than 10 times the levels of antioxidants found in red wine.

3. The stick to the Mediterranean Diet.

Well, after all, they do live in the region, and there is no Walmart or McD's anywhere near, so their diet is all about whole grains, fruits, vegetables, fresh pressed extra virgin olive oil, and fish.
Their fruits and vegetables are eaten shortly after being picked, and are higher in disease fighting compounds.
People who live on the Mediterranean diet outlive people who don't by a good 6 years.

4. They drink goats milk.

Most Ikarians over the age of 90 have been drinking it all their lives.
Goat's Milk is richer than cow's milk in a blood pressure lowering hormone called tryptophan, and it also has antibacterial compounds.

5. They take naps.

Daily afternoon naps, even for just 30 minutes, decreases the risk of heart attack.

6. They don't worry about time

Everything gets done when it gets done, which lowers stress and lowers the risk of everything from arthritis to sagging skin.
(they got my interest at "sagging skin". Who wants it?? Not me!)

7. They drink tea all day long.
Many teas lower blood pressure, as well as the risk of heart disease and dementia.

I think I want to move there...
