Because I'm Addicted, Marni For H&M

Another Saturday, another blog I adore.
While I'm in LA for the Oscars
I'm re-posting from one of my fave blogs

In this post Geri show the complete Marni for H&M
collection.
Possibly my favorite of all the designer for high street lines so far.
The collection is really fabulous, and if you scroll all the way to the bottom
you'll see that you can win some of the pieces.

Enjoy...

marni for h&m (the complete collection)!

Nothing over $129 (accessories are $19.95).
The quality is insane (touched the entire collection with my very own paws). The wood platforms are a MUST. Out March 8.

Do you die or do you die?

p.s. i'm giving away 2 pieces of the collection so stay tuned!

p.s.s. i'm also on the grand jury for h&m's “what inspires you” instagram challenge in which the winner will receive garments from the marni at h&m collection. entering is easy:

1. take a photo of something that inspires you
2. upload the photo to instagram and include the hashtag #MarniatHM
3. get your friends to vote for your photo.

good luck!

Maurizio Pecoraro Autumn 2012 Milan Fashion Week

Color!
Beautiful, bold, bright color!
And multiple layers of texture.

Maurizio Pecoraro Autumn 2012
was deliciously vibrant and textured.
From perfectly belted trenches to separates
colors popped, hemlines rose a little,
and the overall effect was simple yet exciting.

Definitely on the most coveted list!

Alberta Ferretti Autumn 2012 Milan Fashion Week

There were so many incredible pieces at
Alberta Ferretti Autumn 2012
Milan Fashion Week.

It was a case of not just hitting the "want" and "need" buttons,
but holding my finger down on the "crave" button!

The purple coat did me in.
What is beyond crave???

Dark Glamour Gucci Autumn 2012

Musketeers and water nymphs ruled
the runway at Gucci Autumn 2012
kicking off Milan Fashion Week with an array of see though dresses, heavy velvet capes, military style jackets and huge lapels.

"This is modern-day romanticism. A dramatic sensuality, a dark glamour.
With subtle tones of provocative intellect," designer Frida Giannini said.

Most definitely a dark glamour,
models fearlessly stalked the runway in deep plum lips,
sculpted cheeks and absent brows,
shooting looks to kill
as long hair flowed behind them.

Burberry Prorsum Autumn Winter 2012

 Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2012

Burberry may well be Britain's pre-eminent fashion brand, thanks to a glorious combination of classic fashion pieces and state of the art sales technique.

The Burberry Porsum Autumn Winter 2012 fashion show was broadcast live on the big screen to locations around the world including Beijing, and Heathrow Airport. The collection was also available for immediate purchase. Clever, no?

The fashions themselves were lovely,
yet expected.

Cord, tweed, horse-blanket and khaki coats, with pockets big enough to hold an ipad, or a small pet.
Padded pockets below a belted waist drew much attention to the hips, but not in a sex imbued hourglass style.
The vibe was quite traditionally British, wealthy country girl with a good life in the big city.
Very wearable, a modern take on the old school.

The finale was fabulous. Models strolled the runway with umbrellas as artificial rain showered  the transparent roof of the show tent from the outside, while confetti rained down onto the umbrellas from the inside.

McQ Inaugural Runway Show

Alexander McQueen diffusion line McQ had its inaugural runway show this week.

This was also Sarah Burton's first London show, as McQueen shows have taken place in Paris for the past decade.

The McQ line itself debuted in 2006, and will be opening a flagship store on Dover Street this spring.

The show was a theatrical spectacular.

Models' hair was rolled into outsized saucers, their lashes and brows powdered white as they scowled and stomped along a catwalk strewn with fallen leaves, in military coats, Black Watch tartans, quilted velvets and tulles scattered with brightly colored blooms.

Check out the show's fantastic finale:
