Into The Wild ~ Coco Rocha For Harpers Bazaar Mexico

Coco Rocha is always so theatrical.
When she is modeling you feel like she has created a character,
and then she gives that character incredible dimension.

I love this shoot she did for Harpers Bazaar Latin America.
Her fierce expressions and warrior-like poses
enhance the tribal feel of this stunning editorial.

Classic Beauty ~ Jacquelyn Jablonski For Vogue Turkey

I always think dark haired girls are so much sexier than blondes.
The whole California blonde/ Barbie thing is so overdone,
so tired, so dime-a-dozen.

The June 2014 issue of Harpers Bazaar Turkey
has brunette Jacqueline Jablonsky on the cover
and in a fabulous fashion story inside,
looking gypsy-sexy and steaming hot
with darker than ever tresses
moodily challenging you
in an equally dark wardrobe selected by fashion editor
Sara Francia.

Oribe The Collection Travel Set

This September I am leading a little group of ladies from the south on a personal tour around Italy.

We will be drinking win here at the spectacular Hotel San Pietro in Positano

Not the tour bus trip of Italy, not the Italy you see from a cruise ship, but Corinna B's World's Italy - essentially some of my favorite off the beaten track places combined with a few of the main places a first timer in Italy has to see.

None of the ladies have traveled internationally before, so although the trip is still 3 months out, I'm making them lists of travel essentials. Being that it's summertime now and plenty of you will be traveling too, I'm going to share some of it with you via the blog.

If you follow this blog you'll know that I am obsessed with Oribe hair care products.
The main hairstylist I shoot with, Drew Noreen, uses Oribe products exclusively, and is always giving me the lowdown on how to get the best out of my hair with Oribe.

Last year he turned me onto Gold Lust.

This exquisite, light as air hair oil not only protected my color from the fierce sun and days spent in the ocean both in Sicily and on the Italian Riviera, but it also kept the condition of my hair silky, smooth and soft.
Normally after one week at the beach my hair is trashed. Last summer I was in Italy for 6 weeks, and not only was my hair easy to manage and style while I was away, but I came home with my hair still shining and looking gorgeous.

This year I already have a travel size Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil ready to go.
Actually I have everything I need for my hair in travel sizes from Oribe.

Yesterday while we were shooting a fashion story for a national magazine, Drew hooked me up with the Oribe The Collection Travel Set. (and the ladies on the Corinna B's World Glam Italia 2014 tour are buying theirs this week!)

The Oribe The Collection Travel Set is a set of 7 single use shampoos, conditioners and masques. This gives you the opportunity to try them if you haven't already, or for the traveler they are the ideal luxury companion, enabling you to maintain glorious locks without weighing down your travel bags.
For those of you who haven't yet crossed over into the decadence of Oribe hair products, they not only are unparalleled in performance ( nothing makes your hair look more beautiful than Oribe!) but the smell of them is just heaven!

I will be blogging and posting pictures on Instagram from the Corinna B's World Glam Italia 2014 Tour.

How To Wear Summer's Gold Makeup

The Spring/Summer 2014 runways were a veritable gold rush, full of glorious metallic hues, with models looking like Goddesses from a bygone era.

For those of you who are aiming to look like Dolce and Gabbana’s golden Sicilian beauties but instead are finding yourself gazing in the mirror at some warped version of Cleopatra, here is a little road map to pulling off the golden look to perfection.

First you need to understand that the objective is to radiate a slightly golden glow, not to look like you’ve been painted gold.

It all begins with the complexion.
Skin needs to glow, so therefore you have to get it ready long beforehand. Keeping your skin nicely exfoliated and well hydrated is absolutely key to achieving success.
With your skin in great condition you need to build in some color. Either with a facial self tanner, or with foundation. The most important issue if you are using foundation is to get a sheer formula that lets you see through it. Anything heavy or opaque is going to kill your look before you get started.
Thick or heavy foundation looks hideous in the summer, and anything overly powdered is going to make the complexion look dusty, old and tired.

Add some warm golden highlighter with a slight sheen to the upper cheekbones. You can use it alone or mix it into your foundation. You want to create a soft glow, not a mad sparkle.
When you add sheen to your cheekbones, also hit your collarbones and shoulders if they will be exposed. You can’t work a golden glowing complexion if your shoulders and chest look flat and lifeless.
The golden accent must be worked into the skin and not sit on the surface. When it melts into the skin you look gorgeous and exotic.

The Eyes
The trick to making golden shadows work is to go for warmth. Yellow golds seldom look good on anyone, but bronzey warm golds and pink champagne golds look stunning on everyone. Keep the shimmer to the lid and then blend out to matte formulas to build into the crease and fade out to the brow bone. If everything shimmers we wind up looking like Cleopatra again.
Line the eye with deep expresso browns or eggplant tones instead of black.

The Lips
If you add shimmer to the eye then you need to avoid shimmer on the lip. Instead opt for a gentle shine. Avoid anything too porno-glossy, opting instead for a luscious, succulent sheen.

Understand which gold is for you.
If you are fair skinned look at rosey pink champagne golds. Yellow golds will stand out against the skin and golds that are too coppery or bronzey will look muddy.
If you are medium skinned look at peachy golds to warm the skin, or if you are more olive try bronze golds.
If you have dark skin look at deep, warm coppers and bronzes.

Don’t Abuse Bronzer
My ultimate pet peeve in makeup-land is the misuse and abuse of bronzer.
Learn how to apply it correctly, and understand its objective, which is to make you look like you’ve been out in the sun.
It is not to color in the face, fix a foundation shade that is too pale, or the worst offense of them all – it is not a contour product.

Everyone second person with a youtube account or an Instagram tells you to contour with bronzer. Bronzer is made up of bronze tones designed to be a little reflective, and as I said above is to make the skin glow like you’ve just been running around outdoors on a sunny day. Contour products are made up of black , red and grey and are designed to absorb light and recede features that you want to diminish. Bronzer used as contour looks ridiculous, especially once it has worn in for a couple of hours.
When used as a contour product bronzer will ultimately make your face look muddy.

Burberry Ventures Into Skin Care In 2015

Burberry has announced it's expansion into skin care in 2015.

The luxury brand has successfully entered into the world of prestige cosmetics with their designer makeup line, and now they
are adding the opportunity to have a high fashion complexion
with their skin care line rolling out next year.

Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne are pegged to be
the faces of Burberry Skin.
No doubt the campaign will be every bit as stunning as their cosmetics campaigns (see above)
featuring Jourdan Dunn, Edie Campbell and Cara Delevingne.

Camila Alves For The Evening Standard's Deluxe Magazine

I did not know that Camila Alves left Brazil at 15
to come to Los Angeles, nor did I know that she cleaned houses
prior to being discovered.
