As a rule I avoid cold places.

Like the plague.

Plan A had been New Year in Paris.

Which is about as cold as I am willing to be.

But Plan A got shanghai'd.

So whilst googling glam outfits for the snow

I came across this slice of heaven.

No one does fabulous like Kate Moss.

She is spectacular.

Her career is more than two decades long

in an industry that doesn't embrace longevity.

She can emote on camera like no other.

Our respective careers started within months

of one another, back in London.

The word on the street at that time

and in the offices at Storm Model Management

was that this brand new, short model

(in those days 5'7 was short for a model)

was set to become the biggest thing.

She did.

And she still is.

This one is killing me!

I must have looked at it 1000 times.

From the beauty supplement in the 

December 2011 issue of Vogue Italia,

a combination of the fantastic creations 

of The Paper Cut Project,

styling by the fierce fashion force 

that is Giovanna Battaglia,

using designs from 

Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Stella McCartney,

the exquisite photography of Greg Lotus

and the magic of model Codie Young,  

who stays so fantastically in character,

and makes it all make sense.

Unfortunately I don't have the makeup artist details to credit,

but whoever it was is completely brilliant.

Photographer Zee Nunes has created

a fascinating and otherworldly

photo-story for the December 2011 issue of

Marie Claire Brazil.

Model Thiarine Garcia looks frighteningly thin.

Not a womanly form, yet oddly exquisite,

with preternaturally glassy skin

and makeup to die for.

The image is owned by the dramatic red lip,

and strangely offset by a very thin brow.

Her face is so beautiful,

her jawline so impossibly perfect,

her hair so modern and choppy and fresh,

that you get caught up in the story of the stairwell. 

Wardrobe by Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Gucci

is so arresting and enticing,

you almost miss how scary skinny Thiarine is.

And yet,

she mesmerizes...
