Apparently I'm turning into a Nars junkie.
Lately everything they do, I love.
Now they have a new eyeliner arriving for fall.
The new-for-Fall Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner takes eyeliner to the next level. Rich, creamy color glides on smoothly with a budgeproof finish is combined with incomparable 12-hour wear that doesn’t cake or smear. Available in nine deeply dramatic shades, from light almond to blackest black, the shades are named for the most iconic streets in the world.
To celebrate the launch of the new Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner, NARS introduces a film created and directed by Fabien Baron, longtime partner and friend of the brand. To convey the product’s precision application and striking impact, the modern film shows two mechanical arms (tools commonly used in surgical and engineering practices) applying the shade Via Veneto to model Emily Baker, in an elegant, lifelike movement. The film is currently available on the NARS YouTube Channel.Enjoy.

Sleeping Beauty
When you're in your 20s you don't really think about it too much. But add in some babies or simply roll into your 30s, and what woman doesn't fantasize about getting more sleep?
Apart from feeling good, getting seven to nine hours sleep per night, which is the average number of hours an adult needs, helps prevent the following:
Hyperpigmentation
I did not know this! It turns out that not getting enough sleep stresses the body, which triggers the activation of the proopiomelanocortin gene. (I hope I spelled that correctly - I'd never even heard of it before!)
This causes the body to produce excess pigment that can appear as light brown speckles and spots on the face.
Sagging Skin
Because your blood pressure is higher when you're awake, fluids from your blood vessels leach into your skin and stretch it slightly. When you sleep, these fluids get reabsorbed, but if you don't get sufficient sleep the fluids don't get completely reabsorbed, and the skin stays stretched.
This of course is especially noticeable around the eye area, where the skin is thinner.
Permanent dark circles.
The same fluids that cause puffiness also deposit red blood cells in the skin. These then stay there and show through the skin as dark circles.
Wow.
I read not so long ago that mother of 2 toddlers, Jennifer Lopez gets on average 10 hours sleep per night.
No wonder she looks so young!
I probably average 5....
Sweet dreams ~

Top 4 Makeup Mistakes That Make You Look Older
Want to look a little more youthful?
Here are 4 major makeup mistakes that age you like crazy!!
1. Wearing dark, matte shades.
As a rule dark colors on your eyes, cheeks and/or lips make everything look sunken in and smaller. Avoid using anything too matte. Flat, matte shadows make eyes look tired, and unless your lips are well hydrated, matte lipsticks can leave your lips looking withered and pursed.
Opt for lighter colors with a sheen to them.
2. Too Much Powder
Translucent powder is great for setting foundation, but worn alone or overdone it sits in your fine lines and wrinkles and makes you look washed out, tired and a bit ashen. It has no warmth to it, and is the absolute devil when you are trying to look young(er) and fresh faced.
Ideally you want your skin to look a little dewy and luminous.
3.Straight Lines
Harsh, straight lines and edges are sooo unflattering and aging! Hard lines drawn around eyes and lips just make the features look smaller, and leave you looking angry. Smudge out your eyeliner a little, and blend your lipliner inward for a much softer, prettier effect.
4. Too Bronze!
Remember Magda in "Something About Mary"??
As you age you lose some of the peachy pink skin tone, and your complexion gets a little yellower, a little sallower. Be careful of completely flat bronzers, and bronzers that are too yellow, or too dark. Look for bronzers with a champagne-rose or peachy-apricot undertone, and a very slight (read very slight) shimmer to them. They will liven your complexion back up and infuse some warmth.

The Brows Have It
Its all about the eyebrows.
Really.
I have this conversation all the time.
When girls find out what I do for a living, they invariably ask me what I would change about their makeup.
My attention is always drawn immediately to their brows. Maybe the shape is a bit wacky, maybe they are too overdone, or maybe they are too understated.
So here are the rules on brows.
1. They are the most crucial element in shaping the face, and therefore, in flattering the face.
2. Brows that are too thin make your face look angry, or freaked out.
Thin brows amplify your features, they make your nose look bigger, your chin pointier, your face wider. They actually make your features look sharper and more severe, are incredibly aging, and are not at all flattering.
Got that?
3. Go for slightly thicker, more natural brows.
They make the face look younger and fresher.
A slightly thicker brow enhances your eyes, cheeks, and lips, making your face looked balanced, with everything working in harmony.
4. Shape and tint your brows every 4 weeks.
Ideally have them tinted a shade or 2 darker than your natural hair color.
Maintain the shape as best you can in between visits to the salon by tweezing strays.
Really.
