Lingerie By Jean Paul Gaultier

Oh my!
And how much am I loving everything about this???
Except the bird.
That kinda creeps me out.

But the hair,
the make up(!!!)
and what totally hot lingerie!
I would love this.

Especially under my wrap dresses.
Which I am always scared will blow undone
in a freak breeze
or unscheduled surprise hurricane.

Gotta have it!

Just not the bird.

Lets Make A Cat Eye

This is a super simple and quick version of a cat eye.
Great for when you are either wearing a full, bold lip,
or when you just don't have time for much else.

The key to making it super easy is using the bent liner brush. Your hand and wrist will be working at a natural angle, which makes the application very streamlined and effortless.

This is the eye we used in our Valentine's Day tutorial for Sleek and Sexy Look
That video was too long, so we broke it up into smaller pieces.

The Brushes I used:

Oval Shadow Brush
Bent Liner Brush
Taklon Liner Brush

All brushes from CorinnaB.com

Makeup Forever eyeshadow single
Black Gel Cream Liner

Super simple!

Putting Your Best Foot Forward. Hmmm!

When I first moved to America

Vanna White gave me some incredible advice
while we were chilling in her dressing room.

She said

Always wear nude high heels.
They will make your leg look longer and leaner.

And she was right.
100%

So I have taken it upon myself
to do a little research for you
on your long, lean leg options
for spring 2010.

Oh - and you're welcome!

Jimmy Choo from the 24:7 Collection.
As usual,
Perfection!

This post could not possibly be complete
without a visit
to the king himself
Mr Louboutin.
The "Stratarata" in glitter and nude.

You cannot help but look exquisite
in his "Fernando" in nude.

You will absolutely looklonger and leaner
in this YSL "Tribute" Sandal.

I crave this shoe!!

Are You Addicted To Dior?

Are you addicted to Dior???
I'm not sure if I am or not.
But probably.
Hell - I'm addicted to anything sparkly.

So I'm looking forward to the April 21st launch of
Addicted To Dior.

There are some lovely eyeshadows
a complexion enhancer
some other stuff
and these:kissable, smoochable, flirtable
crystal glosses.
To be honest with you, I haven't actually played with these yet.
So I don't know if they're gooey or sleek,
if they bubble or stay smooth,
or how color pigmented they are.

But I do love the pictures!
Aren't they cool?

Best of Showest

Last week Showest was in Vegas.
Showest is the most prestigious convention event for movie theater owners and film distributors in the world.
Kinda fab.

I was meandering through the red carpet looks, and funnily enough Sarah Jessica Parker
wore my two absolute faves.

First up on Thursday during the day SJP wore this lovely fresh and bright
dress by Lanvin.
I loved the dress, but also her hair and makeup.
She looked youthful, pretty, and her skin looked amazing!

Then, later that night she stepped out in my favorite designer for red carpet
the always incredible Marchesa.
How fun and fabulous is this black tulle over nude?
Again, she looked stunning.

Love it.

Lychee Mojitos & the Metropole in Hanoi

I haven't posted a drink recipes in a while,
largely because I really don't drink that much
or that often.
However, when I do, I've been ordering a longtime favorite
The Lychee Mojito

For those of you unfamiliar with lychees,
they are an asian tree fruit
that now is grown also in Isreal.

When the rough red peel is removed, there is a soft, white fruit inside,
with the most amazing and distinctive flavor.
What does it taste like?
Well, lychee.
There is no other similar tasting fruit.

As kids we used to love having bowls of icecream with lychees on top.
Hmmm. Sooo good!

While I was googling images of lychee mojitos, I found this fabulous blog
for travel foodies called Siuyeh.com
(well worth looking up)
Anyway, in their blog post they were drinking Lychee Mojitos
at Le Club In the Hotel Metropole in Hanoi.
How exotic!
I haven't been there, yet, but now its on my list.

the view from Le Club at the metropole in Hanoi.
www.Siuyeh.com

Here's the recipe.

In a cocktail shaker mix 2 wedges of lime, 2 lychees, lychee syrup, 3 mint leaves.
Fill with ice and add 2 oz of Bacardi light.
Shake it up, pour into a glass with 2 lychees in the bottom
and fill with club soda or carbonated water.
Garnish with mint leaves and a wedge of lime.

Refreshing, chic and exotic.

Happy Friday!

Purrfect Red Lips!

Lots of girls are intimidated by red lipstick.
Typically it has a texture that is either too slippery or too dry, and it is very hard to get the exact right color.
Either it is too blue, turns too orangey or pinky,
is too bold, too dark - too something!
Movie makeup artist Julie Hewett was having the same trouble as girls like you and me when she was trying to find the perfect red for Kate Beckinsdale
for the movie Pearl Harbor.
(so you and I are not alone here!)

Being a major movie makeup artist,
she just went ahead and made her own.
But she made it color perfect. And texture perfect.
Not too dry, not too moist.
She made a formula that would glide on to the lip,
not bubble or crack.
And because it was for a movie,
and would be up on a 40 foot screen she made it wear well and last beautifully.

And every fashion editor from every magazine wanted it.
Craved it.Had to have it.
So the makeup line was born.
And it is spectacular.

The Julie Hewett Noir series are the reds I use in my kit.

Anyway,
it appears some of you are a little scared of using reds.
I get many questions from readers asking me how to apply red lipstick just right.
Hmmm.

So I decided to make you a little movie
on how to do the perfect red lip.

There are tons of tutorials out there on how to do the perfect red lip.
Most of them have a complex series of hoops for a girl to jump through.
Conceal this, powder that, stand on your head...

It doesn't have to be that difficult!
Especially if you're using the right products.
Come have a look:

The only products used are:
lip balm during the makeup application. (then removed pre-lipstick)
Julie Hewett Rouge Noir Lipliner
Julie Hewett Rouge Noir lipstick
CorinnaB lipbrush.

Julie has several reds to choose from and a very simple guide to help you choose the one that is right for you.
