Dust Jacket Attic ~ Beautiful Blues

Today's re-posted blog is from
Dust Jacket Attic.

This is another of my favorite blogs,
always full of inspirational images
and very cool stuff.
And I love that she is Australian...

check out her "About Me"

I live in a white house in the beautiful Australian countryside, along with an Arabian horse (total diva), Rhodesian ridgeback dog (adorable personality) and a British shorthair cat (with attitude)...and my husband! When I need a city hit, it's not too far away, whew!

I really love photography, fashion, interior design, food, travel ... and I hope I curate dustjacket to reflect all that and more ... enjoy

Still in Valentine mode ... this ad campaign for Alannah Hill F/W 2012 range is so soft and feminine with it's pretty pinks & reds. Running around an enormous garden at dusk and throwing yourself into the odd hedge or two...what fun!

There are so many amazing posts on her blog - I really had a hard time choosing just one. I attached another goodie to the link below.
Make sure you click on the link and spend some quality time looking through them...

Rodarte A/W 2012 NYFW

Rodarte Autumn/Winter 2012
was a broad and diverse showing of
spectacular pieces.

Rodarte A/W 2012

From 40's influenced tailoring, shapely coats,
sheath dresses and pretty florals,
there was a solid concentration on daywear and separates,
with pieces that real girls can wear every day.

The slick sheath dresses were to die for.

This collection could well herald a strong business move for the Mulleavy sisters,
as they move to a clientele that needs more than just a party or event dress.
Love it.

Makeup At Marc Jacobs A/W 2012

Once again the iconic Marchesa Luisa Casati provided inspiration for a runway show.
Casati by Man Ray
 Remember Chanel Resort in Venice?
Marches Luisa Casati by Man Ray

Casati's crazed debauchery in the 1920's is endlessly interesting,
and has inspired many incredible editorials as well as shows.
Such great material to draw from.

The look for the Marc Jacobs runway show during New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 was created by Nars .

MAKEUP INSPIRATION & LOOK: “Marc didn’t want the makeup look to be too couture, and with the hats by Steven Jones framing the face as they did, we needed to focus on one aspect,” said NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars. “We created really fresh, radiant skin, no blush, and a heavily lined lower eye. The shape is round and a cloudy color, taking reference from 1920s Italian style icon and muse Marchesa Casati.”

LEAD ARTIST: François Nars, NARS Founder & Creative Director. MAKEUP TREND: Luminous skin with a dramatic eye.

Marc Jacobs F/W 2012 Puts The Fun Back Into Fashion!

How deliriously, madly quirky is this??

Marc Jacobs put the fun back into fashion
with his Fall/Winter 2012 RTW show.

More of a spectacular than a siren song to the buyers,
the 15 minute show featured crazy-huge hats
non-body-conscious shapes,
was anti-sexy, anti establishment,
and wickedly fun.

Individual pieces will mesh perfectly into the modern wardrobe,
with opulent fabrics in fun shades of vibrant
greens, lavenders, ochers, reds and pinks.
Some of the coats and jackets were spectacular.

A slightly Victorian feel  theatrically merged
with Dr Seuss-like sensibilities
set to "Who Will Buy" from Oliver!,
including a version by Nancy Sinatra.

Marc Jacobs. Brilliant. Again.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2012 Update

I'm way behind on New York Fashion Week posting
due to my crazy shoot schedule.
February is always a busy, busy month.

Anyway, here is a recap of some of NYFW

At Tommy Hilfiger there was a distinctly equestrian feel.

Behnaz Sarafpour worked both a feminine silhouette and a structured form

At Catherine Malandrino
some very sheer fabrics for fall

Always one of my favorites, Victoria Beckham celebrated an intensely
feminine form, long and lean with a nipped in waist.

At times with a slightly military feel,
with solid color blocking,
the collection was entirely wearable.

At red carpet favorite Carmen Marc Valvo
it was full on glamour,
intensely beautiful.
Hair was slicked back and complimented by
a full, smoky eye and a soft mouth.
