10 Fabulous Pink Gift Ideas

Today my lovely friend Nascar Camping World Truck Series and Nascar Nationwide Series driver, Jennifer Jo Cobb is making history at the final race of the season at Homestead Speedway in Miami.
image by Jeff Robinson, Daytona 2010

Jennifer is the only full time female driver in any of the top three Nascar series, and today becomes the highest ranked female driver of all time in Nascar. On top of that she is the first driver in Nascar to bring a makeup sponsor to the sport.
Jennifer's primary sponsor today is LillysCosmetics.com. She will be driving a pink Lillys Cosmetics Ford F150, and wearing a pink Lillys cosmetics firesuit.

All week I've been posting the Jennifer Jo Cobb makeup looks that you can duplicate with products from LillysCosmetics.com.
Today I'm celebrating Jennifer's huge achievement with 10 pink gift giving ideas for the holiday season. (Jennifer's truck is the #10)

1.) Limited Edition Clarisonic Mia Hope
I swear by my Clarisonic!
With every purchase of the Limited Edition  Clarisonic Mia Hope Clarisonic will make a donation to help women with cancer to look and feel like themselves again.

2.) A girl needs to smell fabulous too! Enjoy the naughtiness of Agent Provocateur on your wrists, throat, and all your other kissable places.
3.) Celebrate your gorgeous derriere with fun pink undies from Kiki de Montparnasse.
A bow here, a wiggle there - what more could a girl ask for?

4.) Pink diamond earrings. Fabulous!
5.) A pink ceramic watch from Michael Kors. Completely lovely.

6.) The Pink Room Candles. I found these on one of my favorite blogs, Flat Out Fabulous

7.) A cerise or rose pink pashmina. A beautiful accessory as well as the perfect throw to take with you when traveling. Real pashmina is both lightweight and warm, and ideal for air travel.

8.) Pink Frette Sheets.
I don't actually know anyone with pink Frette sheets, but the thought of them is just delicious!

9.) Juicy Couture Bath Caviar. A Juicy Girl needs a little luxury, so why not add some coral extracts of youth and vitality to your bath of glory?

10.) What better celebration of the pure pinkness of it all than a Pink CD? Every girl needs her Funhouse!

Prior work commitments meant I couldn't be in Miami with Jen and the crew to celebrate today, but I will make it home in time to watch her race tonight, so I will be there in spirit! And keeping with today's pink theme I'll be drinking one of these:
The perfect (pink) Cosmopolitan!
Good luck Jen!

Jennifer Jo Cobb Big Night Out!

Nascar Camping World Truck Series racer Jennifer Jo Cobb is making history again this weekend at the season's final race at Homestead Speedway in Miami. She has been the only full time female racer this year in any of the top three Nascar series, she has achieved the highest points ranking ever for a female racer in Nascar, and now she is bringing the first ever makeup sponsor to the sport.
Each week 75 million fans tune in to watch Nascar, 40% of whom (approximately 30 million) are female. With those statistics alone you'd think the likes of L'Oreal, Clairol and Revlon would be all over the race cars, but unfortunately none of them are taking the time to speak to the extremely loyal Nascar fan base.

Until now that is.

This weekend Jennifer is bringing the first makeup entity to Nascar, with her sponsorship from LillysCosmetics.com
In honor of this partnership we have put together four different makeup looks that you can easily duplicate using products from LillysCosmetics.com. The Jennifer Jo Cobb Makeup looks have so far included her s
Signature look, a Thanksgiving look, a Quick and Easy Daily Makeup look, and now today we have the final piece of the Jennifer Jo Cobb collection, The Night Out look.

When I fly out to see Jennifer race, once the racing is done, if time and our flight schedules etc permit, we'll fix our hair and makeup, strap on some high heels and go out for the night.
With Denise and Jen at a Cincinnati Reds game after a day of press for Kentucky Speedway

Fantastic fun!

I'm always thinking up some new look for us to wear, and this is the latest. We haven't actually worn this one out yet, but hopefully in the next few weeks we will.

This look is all about a really dark, super smoky eye. The eye needs to be the main feature, so everything else has to be completely toned down. The skin should be pale with just a faint hint of blush - no bronzer. Lips need to be a pale, soft gloss, nothing competing with the very bold eye.

Start out by really taking time to conceal and color correct under your eyes, and apply a full cover foundation. This look is all about a flawless looking skin.
Use the Highlighter Pen to enhance the under eye area and up through the top of the cheekbone.
Next use a really soft and delicate blush shade, such as Pink Petals Mineral Cheek Color, and create a soft wash of color up and over the cheekbone.

Next use a Black Eyeliner pencil to rim the lash line. Work the liner in thicker than usual, then take a
Chisel Fluff  Brush and Black Pearl Mineral Eye Color, and start working the eye shadow through the liner and up onto the lid. First press the dark shadow into the liner, then start building the color, using a swirling motion to graduate the color up and over the crease. This will give you depth and intensity at the lash line and help you to fade the color out as it moves higher up the eye.
Use a Soft Fan Brush to constantly sweep away eye shadow that drops below the eye.
Next take a clean brush and some Moonstone Mineral Eye Color and swirl the color from the brow line down to the crease, meeting and overlapping the darker shade.
Using the Mini Oval Smudger brush and some Coal Mineral Eye Color, make the upper lash line deeper, darker and more smoky, then use whats left on the brush to come under the lower lashes to finish out the smoky effect.
This look requires tons and tons of mascara!! Apply Ultimate Black mascara liberally to the lashes, both top and bottom. To kick it up another couple of notches use false eyelashes. Medium black flare individual lashes or a strip of lashes will both look sensational!

Finish out the look with a very soft pink lipgloss such as Pink Diamonds NouriShine lip gloss from LillysCosmetics.com

Make sure you watch Jen race and cheer her on on Friday night on the Speed Channel!

Also I'd like to say a special thank you to Lillys Cosmetics for acknowledging  the tens of millions of female fans who support Nascar racing, and for choosing my gorgeous friend Jennifer Jo Cobb to fly their colors this weekend.

Easy Daily Makeup

In celebration of Nascar Camping World Truck Series racer Jennifer Jo Cobb bringing the first ever makeup sponsorship to Nascar we are running a series of makeup tutorials showing how to get Jen's various looks using products from LillysCosmetics.com

Jennifer will be wearing a LillysCosmetics.com pink firesuit this coming weekend as she races the final race of the season at Homestead in Miami, in her pink LillysCosmetics.com #10 truck.
Now that we're only 2 days away from the big race we're going to show you a simple day to day makeup look that you can do using products from LillysCosmetics.com

This look is all about being quick and efficient, doing something fabulous when you only have 10 minutes til you have to be out the door.
1.) With the clock running, do a high speed under eye concealer, and blend it out with your finger til its nice and sheer.
2.) Follow that with some speedy foundation - try Mineral Powder foundation, swirled on with a powder brush.
3.) Use a Brow Definer Pencil to fill in and feather through your brows. This will pull your look together and make it complete.
4.) With a synthetic camouflage brush apply Vanilla Eyesicles Eye Color from the lash line across the lids, working it in evenly and fading it out just above the crease of the eye.
5.) With an Angle Blender brush pick up some Copper Glow Mineral Eye Color and sweep it from side to side through the crease and slightly above the crease of the eye. Turn the brush to its flat side and press color into the outer corners of the eyes.
6.) Run some Deep Brown Eyeliner Pencil through the lash line, and smudge it a little so that it doesn't look too heavily lined. Follow this with a couple of high speed coats of Ultimate Black mascara.
7.) Dust some Desert Sun Shimmer Mineral Bronzing Powder across the areas the sun would hit - the forehead, tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and a little on the chin. This will liven your look up and make you look fresh and sunkissed. Even in mid-winter!
8.) Jen loves Berry tones and deep browns when it comes to lipsticks, so line your lips with Dark Berry liner and fill them in with Boysenberry Cream lipstick.

Still got a minute to spare? Use the Facial Highlighting Pen at the inner and outer corners of the eye, the upper cheekbone, and anywhere else you'd like to reflect a little light. Keep the Facial Highlighting pen in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day.

Jennifer Jo Cobb Thanksgiving Makeup Look

Of the 75 million people who tune in to watch Nascar each week,  40 % are women (around 30 million). Funnily enough the only companies talking to us from the sides of the race cars are the likes of Tide, who want to help us do our laundry.
Which is very nice of them, but we're girls. We want makeup and skin care! We want to hear from beauty companies who can give us guidance (and love!) with hair products (hello L'Oreal???), body products, nails and makeup. Finally, finally someone heard us and signed up with the lovely Jennifer Jo Cobb. After all, who better to bring the message to female race fans??
Jennifer Jo Cobb at qualifying at Texas Motor Speedway in 2010

I am thrilled to introduce you to Jennifer Jo Cobb's new sponsor, LillysCosmetics.com
In honor of Lillys Cosmetics sponsoring Jennifer, we have put together a little series of makeup tutorials to show you how to get the looks I use on Jen, with products from Lillys Cosmetics. Each day this week, leading into the last race of the season in Homestead Miami I will be posting a new look for you.
(I'm posting the actual face charts that I use, with my notes in the margins).

To get this project up and running, we started at the Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics (SWINA) where Jen and I had fabulous Hylunia facials to get our skin ready.
Before we apply makeup, and every night when taking off our makeup, both Jen and I use our Clarisonics to get a super deep cleanse and to keep the surface of the skin smooth and glowing. When traveling we each take our Clarisonic Mia with us.

Today we are going to look at the makeup look we cooked up for Jennifer for Thanksgiving.
At this time of year the deep berry hues of fall are so lovely to wear, and are so flattering to all skin tones. This look is about a soft, smudgy slightly smoky eye, a warm flushed cheek and a pretty, glossy mouth.

To create this eye start with Spun Silk Mineral Eye Color. Use an Oval Shadow brush to liberally apply the color from the lashline all the way up to the brow. Next take the color Currant Craze, and with a Chisel Fluff brush making a swirling motion work your way through the lashline and up to and slightly over the crease, keeping the shadow at its most intense along the lash line and lower part of the lid, graduating the color lighter as you move up through the crease.
Line the upper lid with Amethyst eyeliner pencil, then go over that with a Mini Oval Smudger brush and the Sweet Plum Mineral Eye Color, buffing the two together to make the liner more smudged looking. Use the same brush and shadow to buff in a line under the lower lashes, making it look a little smoky.
Finish the eye with several coats of Ultimate Mascara in black.

You can create a soft, warm flush of cheek by applying Cherry Blossum Mineral Cheek Color with an
Angle Blush brush, gently swirling color from the apple of the cheek up across the cheekbone.

Keep your lips warm and glossy, going for deep berries and plums. The more blue in a lip color, then whiter your teeth will seem. Both Jen and I have been loving the Sugar Berry Nouri Shine Lip gloss, applied over either the Plum liner or the Dark Berry Lip Liner. Make sure you use a lip brush to blend the lipliner and the gloss together.

The Jennifer Jo Cobb Signature Makeup Look

Nascar Camping World Truck Series driver Jennifer Jo Cobb is the only full time female driver in any Nascar series.
She is gorgeous, she is fearless, she is fast and she has made history this week by bringing a beauty sponsor to Nascar!
Each week 75 million people tune in to watch Nascar, and 40 % of them (around 30 million) are women.

I am thrilled to introduce you to LillysCosmetics.com
In honor of Lillys Cosmetics sponsoring Jennifer, we have put together a little series of makeup tutorials to show you how to get the looks I use on Jen, with products from Lillys Cosmetics. Each day this week, leading into the last race of the season in Homestead Miami I will be posting a new look for you.
I'm posting the actual face charts that I use, with my notes in the margins.

So here is our first look. It is the Jennifer Jo Cobb Signature look, which is the makeup you've seen her wear most often. We all have our own signature look.

This is a simple but lovely look the is based around beautiful hues of soft browns and golds.
I start with Amber Blaze Mineral Eye Color, applied with an Oval Shadow brush from the lashline up to the crease. Make sure you apply liberally then buff through it.
Next I take a Chisel Fluff brush and either Honey Spice Mineral Eye Color or Moonstone Mineral Eye Color and sweep it up to the brow, making sure to blend it into the Amber Blaze so that the flow of color is seamless.
I use an Angle Blender brush and some Hazelnut Mineral Eye Color to create depth in the crease and outer corners of the eyes.
Smudge some Deep Brown Eyeliner into the upper lash line, then use a taklon liner brush with Hazelnut Mineral Eye Color to smudge and buff through the eyeliner pencil. This creates a softer look to the eye, while maintaining a well defined eye. I use the same shadow and brush to gently and faintly smudge some shadow under the lower lash line.
Jen loves mascara so we apply several coats of Ultimate Mascara in black.

When you are wearing browns and golds on your eyes its important to lift up the cheeks with something a little more lively. Try Gold Canyon Duet Cheek color applied with an Angle Blush brush.
Jen loves bronzer, so I always add bronzer to her upper cheek bones, the bridge of her nose, her forehead and her chin to warm her up. From LillysCosmetics.com try Desert Sun Shimmer Mineral Bronzing Powder.

Finish the look with a full, glossy, berry toned lip. Define the lip with a liner such as the Plum liner (deep blue undertones make your teeth look whiter!). Fill in the outer corners of the lip with the liner, then go over the entire lip with a beautiful berry toned lipgloss, like Berry Sparkle Nouri Shine Lip Gloss. If you can see the liner through the gloss use a Lip Brush to blend the two together.

And there you have it! The Jennifer Jo Cobb Signature Look.

Intelligent Nutrients Anti Aging Mist

I am intrigued with this product, although I haven't tried it yet. I found out about the Intelligent Nutrients Line via Gwyneth Paltrow and her fabulous GOOP website.

Gwyneth's skin always looks incredible, so this line is no doubt well worth looking into.

The product I'm so fascinated with is the Anti Aging Mist ($35)

From what I understand, this is a pre-serum spray. I can never get enough products, so love adding any extra steps into my skin care regimen!
You spray this mist onto the skin, then apply your serum, then moisturizer, then SPF.
You can reapply this throughout the day, spritzing your skin as needed
What it does:
* prevent and correct signs of aging
* feeds, protects and restores the skin
* provides refreshment and hydration to the skin.

Good for all skin types, this product is silicone free, paraben free, contains no petrochemicals and no synthetic fragrances.

This one would be a great product to keep in your handbag to revive your makeup (or your bare skin) during the day, and keep you looking fresh and gorgeous through the holiday party season.
Great stocking stuffer too!

How To Wear High Pigment Eyes

One of the huge trends both for Fall 2010, and also showing up in Spring/Summer 2011is the high pigment, intense eye.

Chanel Spring/Summer 2011
This look can be completely arresting, and when worn correctly it can be quite spectacular, but there are a few tricks to getting this eye just right.

*Start by making sure your skin is well nourished and hydrated. The cooler weather can really strip the skin of its moisture, and this look is dependent upon a great complexion.

* Use a good eye cream, and pay extra attention to the area under the eye, next to the nose.

* Conceal well under the eye, paying attention to color correcting out the blue/gray. Use a concealer with a good pink undertone to cancel out unwanted dark rings.

* Pay extra attention to applying a good, luminous, full cover foundation. A high pigment eye needs to be paired with a flawless looking skin.

* Use a soft, barely there shade of blush. You need the dimension of a contoured cheek to break up the beige of the face, but only a whisper of pale color.

* Soften the brow. A full, power brow will dominate the face. Soften out the brow color and shape, so that the eye takes center stage.

* Use a synthetic brush to apply cream based shadow, then a hair eyeshadow brush
(see Corinna B Chisel Fluff brush) to swirl dark shadow from the lash line to the brow.

* Finish out your eye with multiple coats of mascara. This look requires big lashes!

* Keep lip color to a minimum. Look at shades of nude, or barely there glosses. Don't let your lips compete with your eyes.

Glamour Magazine Women Of The Year Gala

Last night Glamour Magazine held its 2010 Women of the Year Gala at Carnegie Hall in NYC.
It was quite the Who's Who of fabulous femmes from the worlds of fashion, music, acting and sports, with one of the more stunning red carpets seen in a long time.

Here are my favorite four of the night

Could Fergie possibly even look more Fergalicious??
Her red Zac Posen was spectacular!

I didn't care for her footwear,
but loved everything about Kyra Sedgwick's L'Wren Scott dress
Petra Nemcova looked fresh, fun, and plain gorgeous in white.
Who cares about the "after labor day" routine anyway??

Julia Roberts' makeup was lovely, and I loved the coat and the shoes!
(she wore a black L'Wren Scott dress with a plunging neckline underneath)

Chanel Pulsion

Here's another great gift giving idea, this time from Chanel.
A little change up from all the traditional holiday reds, Chanel gives us their new nail polish, Pulsion.
This is a beautiful, fuchsia-like deep, cool, pink creme.

Intensely feminine and powerful, pretty yet chic, modern and very fashion forward.
Pulsion is the ideal compliment to all of fall/winter's blacks, navy's and browns.
The formulation is nicely pigmented, glossy and dries quickly.
