Anja Rubik For Vogue Japan

Patrick Demarchelier creates a certain magic
when he shoots Dior Haute Couture.

It could be argued that no photographer understands Dior better
than Demarchelier.

Last year he released his beautiful coffee table book,

In the May 2012 issue of Vogue Japan
Demarchelier teams up with
fashion editor and uber stylist
Anna Dello Russo
and polish model Anja Rubik
with a story that is exclusively Dior Haute Couture
aptly called Couture To Adore.

Makeup by Val Garland
hair by Malcolm Edwards.

Saskia De Brauw for Vogue Japan May 2012

How many layers of killing me
can you have in one editorial???

Lori Goldstein's  styling on this shoot for
Vogue Japan May 2012
is beyond genius.

The familiar theme of mermaid getting all beachy
is taken to a whole new level
with giant accessories
and extreme wardrobe,
from designers including
Stella McCartney, Oscar De La Renta,
Kara Ross, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci,
Paco Rabanne, Balenciaga,
and Aurelie Bidermann,
as well as a massive dose
 of crazy brilliant flair.

Shot with aching beauty by Patrick Demarchelier
model Saskia De Brauw  gives us
attitude teamed with moody nonchalance
on the high fashion version
of a Mermaid's Holiday

Kate Moss at the Ritz Paris for Vogue April 2012

The Ritz Paris is one of the most iconic hotels in the world.

Kate Moss is one of the most iconic
models in history.

A perfect pairing then by Vogue
to celebrate the Ritz closing its doors for the first time
in its elaborate and celebrated history,
for a two year renovation.

In honor of the hotel's fabulous fashion history
Vogue had photographer Tim Walker
photograph Kate Moss
in spectacular couture
from Alexander McQueen,  Dior
and Giambattista Valli amongst others,
bringing life to the vision
of the world's most iconic stylist,
Grace Coddington.

Hair by Julien d'Ys
Makeup by Stephane Marais

Love.

"When I was with Johnny Depp, he always stayed there.
I had an apartment in Paris at the time, but he said,
'No, we're staying at the Ritz,' so he came by and swept me up to the Ritz
— he didn't want to slum it in my apartment!"

Lara Stone for Vogue Paris March 2012

In the March 2012 issue of Vogue Paris
model Lara Stone takes us on an
envy ridden weekend in Rome.

Envy ridden?
Who wouldn't want to wear
high waisted paisley Jil Sanders
with a cropped Alberta Ferretti
and go toss coins in the Trevi fountain??

The New 50's, Vogue China March 2012

So.
I had planned on banging out some killer behind the scenes blogs from the Oscars, but time and uploading got out from under me.
Work got in the way of dissecting
any more fashion week goings on,
however,
Vogue China got me.
They way it always does.

Could you not just die over this editorial???

I could.
