Rodarte A/W 2012 NYFW

Rodarte Autumn/Winter 2012
was a broad and diverse showing of
spectacular pieces.

Rodarte A/W 2012

From 40's influenced tailoring, shapely coats,
sheath dresses and pretty florals,
there was a solid concentration on daywear and separates,
with pieces that real girls can wear every day.

The slick sheath dresses were to die for.

This collection could well herald a strong business move for the Mulleavy sisters,
as they move to a clientele that needs more than just a party or event dress.
Love it.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2012 Update

I'm way behind on New York Fashion Week posting
due to my crazy shoot schedule.
February is always a busy, busy month.

Anyway, here is a recap of some of NYFW

At Tommy Hilfiger there was a distinctly equestrian feel.

Behnaz Sarafpour worked both a feminine silhouette and a structured form

At Catherine Malandrino
some very sheer fabrics for fall

Always one of my favorites, Victoria Beckham celebrated an intensely
feminine form, long and lean with a nipped in waist.

At times with a slightly military feel,
with solid color blocking,
the collection was entirely wearable.

At red carpet favorite Carmen Marc Valvo
it was full on glamour,
intensely beautiful.
Hair was slicked back and complimented by
a full, smoky eye and a soft mouth.

NYFW Beauty Diane Von Furstenburg Fall/Winter 2012

Diane Von Furstenberg's Fall/Winter 2012 seductive, bold and daring collection appropriately titled "Rendezvous," called for deep smoky eyes, perfect nude skin, defined brows and a rose lip. To create a strong, confident and feminine look, the hair was shiny with a deep side part, tightly gathered in a low chignon.

Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2012

oh I love him!!

Jean Paul Gaultier channels Amy Winehouse Spring 2012

Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2012
The collection paid homage to the life, style and smoking habits of
late singer Amy Winehouse.

From Amy's signature beehive hairdo and heavily winged eyeliner
to her eclectic and eccentric mix of floaty silhouettes clinched with rock n roll belts,
strapped in bustiers to torpedo bras,
there was a hard edged femininity that was offset by Gaultier style androgyny
and buckets full of attitude.

In the finale the models swept past in long, draping black veils,
a bittersweet tribute to a show and a life filled with fun.

Best Makeup From Milan's Fashion Week via Vogue Paris

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012

Faithful to their reputation the Milanese shows gave us the best in glamour, the best in makeup.
The looks ranged from intense to luminous to very dark. Whether juxtapositioning a heavy eye with a bared out brow, as at Gucci, or a maquillage like a second skin at Alberta Ferretti, an unhurried, essential beauty ruled the runway.
Here are some of my favorites via Vogue Paris:

At Gucci bare skin was paired with a graphically intense eye and a bleached out brow.
Gold brows at Fendi
Subtle winged eye and neutral visage at Dolce & Gabbana

At Emilio Pucci a neutral palette offset a charcoal eye, heavily lined and buffed out under the eye then faded out to the temples
Bohemian chic at Moschino. A heavily ringed eye paired with a contoured rosy cheek and a soft lip.

At Versace the look was all about the lashes. Long, defined and maximum volume.

Nails were the big accessory at Missoni. From bright blue to metallic, alluringly sophisticated.
Blugirl was all about a simple clean skin, a hint of blush and a slightly rosy lip. Ethereal.

70's retro at Just Cavalli. Blue, grey and silver meticulous and magnetic, and explosion of color and accent on the eyes.

A goldmine at Cavalli. Golden eyes and cheeks paired with a glowing soft mouth. Beautiful.

Simple and luminous at Alberta Ferretti

Milan Fashion Week A/W 2011

Happy Friday!

Due to an insane shoot schedule I haven't been posting anything on the euro-fashion weeks, but they are of course, completely amazing.

Here are some tidbits I picked up for you from the ever fabulous Fashionising.com.

Gucci was all about a 70's retro vibe, this time with punchy, exciting color

Lorella Signorino Atelier
Could you Die??? What I wouldn't do for those boots and that coat!!
I'm sure The Man Repeller would have loads to say about this one. But I'm sure she'd love it like I do!

Bold colours, bright prints and tutus!!! D&G was far too much fun for fall! Love Love Love it!!
I would wear a tutu like this on shoots every day of the week!
(and I'd feel so damn glam!)

Bold, exciting and alive D&G prints were fun and young.
