Makeup Trends For Spring 2014

Spring is now in full force, and if you haven't done so already,
it's time to update your makeup wardrobe
to fit the new season.
Or maybe you just want a few ideas
for how to pull it all together for Easter.
Either way, its time to hit the makeup stores
and stock up on the new colors.

Here are the 5 major makeup trends for Spring 2014

1.) Metallic Eyes
Seen here at the Jason Wu Spring 2014 show at New York Fashion Week, beautiful, shimmering, metallic eyes.
Look for complimentary bronzes and warm golds to flatter skin tone, and make green and brown eyes spark.
Choose products with small particles - large glittery particles not only fall down your face, but look tacky too.

2.) Orange Is The New Red
Try a bold orange mouth. Play with color to see which works best for you, choosing from a full blown orange to coral to tangerine to mandarin. Opt for formulas that have a slight sheen to them, making the lip look more succulent.

3.) The Cat Eye

Molly Roncal created this fabulous, pronounced cat eye offset with a metallic sheen for the Tracy Reese Spring 2014 runway show.
The key to pulling off a great springtime cat eye is to make that the central focus of your makeup, toning everything else down, and scaling back all other drama.

4.) White Eyeshadow

There are two ways to wear the Spring 2014 white eyeshadow.
Above, (from the Alice and Olivia Spring 2014 runway show) the look is an iridescent wash of white shadow, with white liner.
This is the easier of the two to pull off for a fresh faced, dewy spring look.
The other look seen below at Altuzarra Spring 2014 runway show is a more opaque, more densely packed white shadow

5.) The Soft Berry Lip

If you want to keep it soft and pretty, or if a bold lip feels too big for you, try out a soft berry lip, such as this one seen at
Michael Kors Spring 2014. Berry tones not only spark green and blue eyes, but they also make your teeth look super white.
Simplifying your look, and building from a glowing complexion will always make you look fresh and dewy.
