Gisele Bundchen Balenciaga Campaign With Cropped Hair

The fashion world let out a huge gasp when they saw this image of Gisele Bunchen in her new Balenciaga campaign:

I too had that moment of wondering if she had followed the trend and gone for the mega crop.
Turns out A) she has body doubles who work for her.
(Are you kidding me?? WHY??? I have worked with so many models in the past 25 years, and none have ever had a body double, let alone two)
And B) a body double had to endure the buzz cut, which was then digitally blended onto images of Gisele in a bald cap.
According to The Telegraph, Gisele had to suffer arriving at the shoot 3 hours earlt to be fitted into said bald cap.
And Pantene's investment remained safe...

Top 10 Highest Paid Models 2013

The Forbes Magazine list of
2013's top 10 highest paid models is out.

And its quite fascinating.

Gisele Bundchen, highest paid model in the world

The number one spot goes to Brazilian beauty Gisele Bundchen.
The wife Patriots quarter back Tom Brady earned a staggering $42 million dollars
keeping her as the highest paid model in the world for the 7th year running.
Her lucrative modeling contracts with giants
including HM, David Yurman, Pantene, Oral B and Chanel
only add to the fortune she makes with Brazilian shoe company Grendene (she is partial owner),
and her eco friendly cosmetics company Sejaa.

Bundchen's income is 7 times that of the number two highest earner in the modeling world,
Miranda Kerr, who's income is estimated at $7.2 million.

Miranda Kerr Victoria's Secret

Kerr has pursued major contracts with companies outside of the USA, particularly in Asia
where she launched her skin care line, Kora, and where she has endorsement deals with giants including Lipton Tea and Proctor and Gamble detergent Bold.

The 3rd highest paid model in the world is Adriana Lima,
who's annual earnings are estimated at $6 million.

Adriana Lima

Most of Lima's income generates from Victoria's Secret, for whom she has modeled since 2000,
making her the company's longest running model.
6 of the top 10 models have sizeable contracts the the lingerie giant.

In the number 4 slot 39 year old British model, and my personal favorite,
the perennially fabulous Kate Moss dropped from last year's number 2 ranking,
with $5.7 million.

Although wingless, the divine Miss Moss has deals with Vogue Eyewear, Versace and Rimmel.

The 5th highest earner is Chinese supermodel Liu Wen,
who earned $4.3 million in the past year.

Estee Lauder model Hilary Rhoda's $4 million income put her in the 6th highest paid position,
as she entered her  7th year with the cosmetics giant.

The 7th spot is held by Carolyn Murphy,
who's earnings were $3.7 million.

Number 8 in the top 10 is Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls,
who is the first latina face of Estee Lauder.

This is Smalls' first year on the list,
with earnings estimated at $3.5 million.

The 9th highest paid model in the world is South African Candace Swanepoel,
who earned $3,3 million.

Swanepoel, like several of the other top 10s has a sizeable contract with Victoria's Secret, but also earns from Max Factor, Versace and Juicy Couture.

And rounding out the top 10 highest paid models in the world,
with an income of $3.2 million is dutch model Lara Stone,
who earns from an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein.

How To Wear Highlighter

Gisele Bundchen  highlighter
Highlighter is one of those fabulous makeup products that can completely transform a face, making it radiate light and youth.
You can use it to make individual features glisten, or to create the illusion of completely brightening the entire complexion.
It's magic.
But unfortunately it is also one of those products (like bronzer) that gets horrifically misused and abused.

So here is a cheat sheet with 4 tricks for mastering highlighter.

1. Keep it to one product

Don't use highlighter and pair it up with a glossy lip and shimmery eyeshadow. Choose one gleaming product, and keep the others neutral.

2. For Just A Hint of Luminosity
Apply a hint of liquid luminizer such as MAC Strobe Liquid Lotion to the cheekbones, temples and bridge of the nose prior to applying your foundation. This will bring out a subtle glow to the skin from underneath. Light will radiate from your complexion without making you look shiny or oily.

3. For A Soft Sheen
If your skin is looking lifeless or dull and needs a little more help to achieve a subtle glow, mix a few drops of liquid luminizer with a few drops of foundation. Using a duo fiber brush, swirl the product across the tops of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and the center of the forehead. Apply foundation alone with a duo fiber brush to the other areas of the face, swirling it into the borders of the areas you just worked on so that it blends seamlessly. Your complexion will come alive and look radiant, without looking oily or shiny.

4. For A High Shine
Add a liquid or cream highlighter to the cheekbones, cupid's bow and eyelids as the final step in your makeup application. This will give you a really radiant shine, and the boldest effect of them all.
If you are using a powder product make sure the particles are really refined. Anything with larger particles will make the complexion look glittery.
