New Florals ~ How To Spend It Magazine

I am just completely beside myself over this one!

I always obsess over Damian Foxe's amazing editorials in the Financial Times' How To Spend It Magazine.
The pairing of Damian with photographer Andrew Yee
is one of the most fascinating collaborations in
contemporary editorials.
They never ever fail to provide a visual banquet.

My July has been a mad work marathon of endless fashion editorials, ad campaigns and lifestyle shoots,
and today is my first chance all month to really take time to
catch up on the fabulous world of international editorials,
so am just now stumbling (deliriously) upon this work of art,
not only styled by Damian Foxe, but photographed by him too.
I had no idea he was a lensman!

Foxe's brilliance lies in the fact that a story about summer floral fashion is essentially not exciting at all.
To a degree it's like an essay on kitten heels.
And yet. And yet.
In Foxe's hands it becomes mesmerizing.
Maddeningly so.
His casting of Anushka Stupakoff, Mariah Morrison and
Lucy Gascoyne is brilliant. The addition of hair stylist
Francome Painter and Makeup artist Marco Antonio
is the final perfect touch.

I beyond love this.
I can't stop looking at it.
And I never pay attention to florals...

The Spiffy Fifties ~ How To Spend It Magazine

I love this!
The Spiffy Fifties, How To Spend It Magazine

Actually, I always love the combination
of photographer Andrew Yee,
stylist Damian Foxe
and the Financial Times How To Spend It magazine.
They are always such an innovative and exciting combination,
creating the most edgy-fab-cool editorials.

In the new issue of How To Spend It they have created
a modern take on the 50's,giving the new season's fashions
from the likes of Prada, Dior and Dolce and Gabbana
a gorgeous and spectacular retro spin
with wigs and hairdos by Schlomi Mor,
and the most fabulous winged eyeliner
by makeup artist Nives Riddles.

Model Samantha Gradoville gets right into character,
breathing life into the story
and looking absolutely beautiful in every frame.

Believe The Stripe ~ How To Spend It

I absolutely love Damian Foxe's remarkable wardrobe styling.
In fact the main reason I check out How To Spend It magazine is to see what he has been up to.

Here with photographer Gustavo Zylbersztajn, he takes to the high seas in a story all about sailor stripes for summer.
It's magnificent.

A La Mod ~ How To Spend It

Photographer Andrew Yee and stylist Karen Levitt
have created a truly defining moment
for the season in the new issue of How To Spend It.

A La Mod, How To Spend It
Many publications have toyed with 60's inspired shoots this season,
but after seeing this one I realize they were all
just part of the warm up round.
Yee's vibrancy is electrifying.
He takes you on a Warholian pop-art ride,
where bold blocked color meets mod shapes,
and where his models fit so well with his backgrounds
they appear to be part of the art itself.

The models in question, Kamila Filipcikova and Karo Mrozkova,
slide straight into the posture of the 60's,
embodying the mod moment, validating the layout.

Levitt brilliantly manages to take new season fashion
from designers including Fendi, Dior, Courreges, Stella McCartney,Givenchy and Louis Vuitton
and meld it with the silhouette, colors and structure
of the mod movement
in one of the most exciting stories I have seen in ages.

I can't stop looking at these phenomenal images!

In the new issue of How To Spend It magazine
fashion editor Damian Foxe does double duty,
both styling the shoot and photographing it.

Costumed in both Haute Couture
and Ready To Wear,
model Kamila Flipcikova enters Foxe's magic world
of moody clouds and fog,
enhanced of course, by his trademark spectacular styling.
